Mozart and Salieri

Picture
Mozart and Salieri was created as the first half of our newest production "MS" at The Space Feb 2010.
Using an english translation by Alan Shaw of the original text "Mozart and Salieri" by A.Pushkin the legend suggests that Antonio Salieri poisoned his admired and rival composer W..A. Mozart in a rapt of envy. This legend has given inspiration to modern artists like Milos Forman in his film "Amadeus".
The performance was created in collaboration with the hungarian painter Otto Farkas, whose pictures are an integral part of it. The idea behind this concept is to research the permeability between two very close arts: music and paintings.
We collaborated with Otto (winner of London Creative Prize 2009) in creating the impression of music through images, integrated with the dramatic action.

Featuring: Alessia Mankovskaya-Salieri, Ros Stern-Mozart, James Aaron-Servant
