El Pajarito

 El Pajarito theatre company was created in 2008 by actor and musician Jose Gandia and singer and composer Alessia Mankovskaya.
The first production ‘Marat/Sade, a fantasy’ was presented in April 2008 at Trinity College of Music. It was the result of a collaboration with Trinity Laban Dance Conservatory and included contemporary choreography and video art. Later this production was revised specially for participation in Southwark  Playhouse ‘Secrets’ Festival (July 2009).
 El Pajarito successfully collaborates with contemporary writers ( play ‘Toxic’ by Sally Relton Shakespeare, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Lilian Baylis Studio, April 2009); as well as staging opera (‘La Finta Semplice’ by Mozart in Reform Club, and The Space, London 2009, "La Finta Giardiniera" by Mozart, Greenwich Playhouse (2010) and creating a Cabaret program ‘Nostalgic Cabaret’ for Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2009).

 The aim of the company is to provide contemporary high quality performance related to the physical theatre involving Grotovski techniques and Commedia dell Arte.
El Pajarito speaks with the audience in the language of collaborative art presenting a new point of view on the well known classics.
